Introduction: The purpose of this research was designing and testing a model for the effect of two school goal structure on student’s motivational constructs considering the mediating role of perceived teacher’s support as emotionally and instrumentally. Method: The present study is correlational and structural equation modeling. The sample consisted of 210 third-year high school students in Isfahan who were selected by multistage random sampling method. The instruments which used in this study were school goal structure (school learning goal structure and school performance goal structure) , Students’ perceptions of the teachers as emotionally supportive scale, teacher’s instrument support scale, intrinsic work motivation, effort and help seeking behavior questionnaires. Fitness of the proposed model was examined through structural equation modeling (SEM), using SPSS-22 and AMOS-18 software packages. The indirect effects were tested using the Baron & Kenny (1986) method. Results: Findings indicated that the proposed model fit the data properly. Three Indirect effects in the model were also confirmed. Better fit obtained by omitting 2 non-significant paths and using AMOS modification indices. Conclusion: The study strongly indicates that schools should strive to establish a learning goal structure.
